The old man's books were falling apart. The pages were loose. Some were stuck together.  The man from the H. P. Lovecraft institute wanted to take them off our hands for fifty dollars, but he seemed too eager, so we took them to Antiques Roadshow in Macon. The nice young man there, representing Nathan's Rare Books, said they were worth much more.
